1. With countless fashion parties and charity benefits to attend in the next few weeks, I’m hard up for chic cocktail dresses. I’ve run through my entire closet and then some. This leaves me perusing the sale section of Net-a-Porter, desperately looking for something (under $500 preferably) to catch my eye.
I don’t know if it’s the warmer weather or the fact that I just want to relax at night (even if I’m at a black-tie function), but lately I’ve been in the mood for slouchy, louche Studio-54-inspired glamour. Think bright colors, drapey fabrics, tousled bedhead, and a devil-may-care attitude.
For that, Halston seems to be the go-to designer. The yellow dress above is bordering on casual, but I’m thinking with some killer heels, stacks of gold bangles, and a sparkling headpiece of some sort, I just may be able to get away with it.
