We’re having dinner at a restaurant called 212 on the Upper East Side. I have to admit, while I’m truly excited about spending the holiday with a group of friends, I woke up wondering why I hadn’t just offered to cook the feast at my apartment and have everyone over. It just seems more…Thanksgiving-ish to cook at home.
And then I read 212’s Thanksgiving menu online and totally changed my mind on that sentiment. It includes: truffle-scented butternut squash, pumpkin and ricotta ravioli, mascarpone and brown butter, free-range turkey, sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, and for dessert, caramel ice cream and pumpkin pie. Now I’m a good cook, but I do not know how to make truffle-scented butternut squash. Or caramel ice cream. And I don’t really have an oven at the moment. Don’t ask.
My mouth is watering!
