*this may seem like an oxymoron at first--really, who comes to New York to fall in love? People come here to make money, to become "someone", to realize their dreams of fame and fortune. But to fall in love? That's something better left to the middle states, to Los Angeles, even. The dichotomy between Love and New York is vast and seemingly impossible to bridge. Love is soft, vulnerable, open, and giving. New York can be hard, tough, closed, and unrelenting. But the fact that love is still here, despite all that--maybe that's what makes NY the best place to find it. Because if you can find it here, and hold onto it, well that's when you know it's real and solid and good.*
