1. I took a stroll through Chelsea Market today for the first time and was blown away by the wealth of food sources in there. Buon Italia (above) is an Italian market that stocks freshly made pastas, a wide array of delicious cheeses, and different varieties of Italian sausages, flours, beans, olive oils, polentas, and more. I also saw less traditional, more obscure items on their shelves like quail eggs. Rachel gave me Mario Batali’s Babbo cookbook for my birthday and now I know exactly where to go when I’m gathering ingredients for the recipes in it. I also saw a great organic “fruit exchange” with fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices, coffees, and other staples.I’m in love with this place! I guess this is good-bye to Balduchi’s and Garden of Eden.
