1. I’ve recently discovered Saipua, a small family-owned shop in Red Hook, Brooklyn (392 Van Brunt Street, 718-6224-2929) that sells handmade, hand cut, air dried soaps that are crafted in their workshop in the Hudson Valley in small batches using food grade olive oil, butter, herbs, and other extracts. I have this weird thing for handmade all natural soaps and lotions (I sometimes buy them on Etsy) so Saipua has me really excited. To top it off, they also sell the most gorgeous floral arrangements—the owners go to the flower markets in the mornings themselves and hand pick the buds they’ll use.
