Summer is, without a doubt, one of my favorite seasons; the bright, scorching sun, longer days, beach weekends, perfectly ripe blueberries, and casually intense summer flings all add up to one long hazy stretch of fun. With a capital F. For some reason, though, as we come into August, I’m finding myself craving the slightly slower, cooler, less kaleidoscopic days of fall. I’m looking forward to turning it down a notch and muting the colors a bit, so to speak.
When I went onto genius shopping site La Garconne this morning, it gave me about 55 new reasons to want fall to come a little sooner this year. And this impossibly soft, ballet-slipper-colored top by Zucca was reason numero uno. I’m seeing Central Park and golden leaves. I’m seeing ubiquitous black leggings and ballet flats, a cream knit hat and a deconstructed leather bag. I’m seeing this top sans bra under a chunky wool scarf. It’s total romance in a sweater—so different from the fast, furious fun of summertime.
What do you guys think? Ready for fall? Or wishing for an endless summer?
